Bosan was speaking at the inaugural session of the third ‘International Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Bio-technology’. Bosan asserted that collaborative efforts need to be put to promote the agricultural sector.

Adoption of modern techniques while ensuring safe use of bio-technology is one of the priorities on the government’s agenda, he added.

The Ministry of National Food Security and Research vowed full support for sustainable growth in  the agricultural department.

Bosan revealed that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is very keen for the development of agriculture sector. He further revealed that Rs20b has been reserved for the livelihood uplift and betterment of the country’s farmers.

Former chairman of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik informed that there is a dire need for active research in bio-technology.
