Punjab Land Record Authority to launch mobile app for provision of property ownership deeds

All property ownership deeds will be digitized and put online on the official website by the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA). This was decided in a performance review meeting being presided by the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who gave this go-ahead. It was decided in this meeting that patwari’s will have no inclusion in revenue matters anymore.

As per information available, the PLRA will be launching a mobile app for provision of ownership deeds. All these deeds will be available from the Bank of Punjab which will enter into an agreement with the department by the initiation of next month.  After the signing of this agreement, Arazi centres will be opened as well. The CM expressed that this would facilitate the public by providing them an easy way to retrieve their land documents without any trouble whatsoever. He also went onto state that his government had made a landmark move by digitizing all the revenue records of the rural population.

The CM also said on the occasion “Action has been taken against people involved in corruption against people involved in corruption under a policy of zero tolerance. Strict action has been taken against any officials found guilty.” He instructed the department to ensure appointments of staff are made on merit to ensure the smooth operation of this newly launched system.
