Dar, ADB country chief discuss current portfolio in the country

ISLAMABAD

The Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the Country Director Asian Development Bank Xiaohong Yang on Thursday discussed the bank’s current portfolio in the country. This was done in a joint session after which statements were released to the press.

The minister welcomed the newly appointed Country Director to Pakistan. The minister appreciated that ADB’s portfolio in Pakistan has been increasing for the last three years and was likely to grow further in the coming years.

The minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of project implementation and both sides emphasized efforts to keep up momentum of Pak-ADB cooperation in different spheres. Dar assured all possible support in efforts for furtherance of Pak-ADB cooperation.

The minister on the occasion also accepted ADB country head’s invitation to attend the 50th anniversary celebrations of the ADB in Islamabad to be held in July 2017. She appreciated the finance minister’s effective participation as head of Pakistan’s delegation in the annual meetings of the ADB in May this year.

Senior officials of the finance and economic affairs divisions also attended the meeting.
