FPCCI has termed SAARC Investment Forum also an important platform for attracting foreign investors in Pakistan.

As per World Bank, South Asia is the World’s fastest growing region with a population of more than 1.6 billion people. The region offers multiple opportunities in various sectors including, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Tourism, Manufacturing etc. and that must be exploited.

President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Zubair Tufail, is strongly committed to enhancing regional connectivity through the spillover benefits of CPEC.

He shall also attend the 70th Executive Committee meeting of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry scheduled from 24th July 2017 in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Zubair Tufail said that CPEC is a project for economic development for this region. The programs and projects included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are purely for enhancing the pace of economic growth through infrastructure development, roads network, industrial parks and greater connectivity within and beyond the region.

Better infrastructure and connectivity will ultimately benefit Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republic for which Pakistan is the gateway.  CPEC will enhance financial and economic cooperation between various regional members for common development.

He added that CPEC will act as a trade bridge between China, Middle East, and Europe through Pakistan and will generate thousands of jobs and revenue worth billions for both countries. It is expected that millions of people of the region will benefit from this corridor as the project has the capacity to boost economic activities, increase trade linkages, enhance technical cooperation, generate new financial opportunities, and amplify sociocultural connectivity among people in the region.

He also mentioned that leading businessmen and economic experts from the region shall also participate to get first-hand information about benefits and opportunities to exploit these to own advantage during and after completion of CPEC Project.
