PSQCA committed to raising quality standards in Pakistan: Dr Barkat

KARACHI: The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) as a national standards body, is committed to play its multidimensional role of enhancing the competitiveness of the local industry and trade for the optimum benefits of stakeholders.

This was stated by PSQCA Director-General Dr Barkat Saeed Memon during a meeting with the head of department for Asia, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Belarus Andrei Grinkevich, along with his team Councilor of Embassy Andrei Ermolovich, and First Secretary Kirill Deryabin at the PSQCA Head Office Karachi.

He said the international standardisation ISO/IEC significantly contributes to strengthening the accessibility aspects in the design of products, services, environments, and facilities.

Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has formed a Technical Committee for accessibility standards with the help of stakeholder groups.

He said Pakistan has 30970 standards including 8000 local standards. He said we are going to harmonise our standards with SARSO.
