9 Pakistani companies represent country at Shanghai textiles fair

KARACHI: Asia’s premier textile fair which held its 22nd edition from 27 to 30 August 2018 in Shanghai was attended by 40,000 trade buyers and had 1,040 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.

There was a ‘Carpet Zone’ in Autumn Edition 2018 in which Carpets and rugs exhibitors from India, Turkey and other countries participated and Aviva Enterprises, Amma Enterprises and Tribal Creation from Pakistan also showcased their carpets in it. The seven pavilions have been long-term participants at the fair which include Belgium, India, Korea, Morocco, Pakistan, Taiwan and Turkey.

Top 10 foreign visitor countries included Korea, Japan, Russia, Iran, USA, India, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore

At least nine-companies including Adamjee Enterprises, Crescent Textile Mills, Indus Home, MK Sons Pvt Ltd, Nimra Textile and Rany Textiles participated from Pakistan including product group of Home Textiles and Carpets. Aviva Carpets, Amma Enterprises and Tribal Creation also participated.

Exhibitors remain optimistic about the China market despite the economic situation.

In recent years, the fair has placed a big emphasis on providing opportunities for exhibitors. For many overseas buyers at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, the ability to meet with potentially hundreds of Chinese exhibitors, under the same roof and at the same time, is a strong draw card.

The next Intertextile Shanghai Home – Spring will be held from 12 – 14 March 2019. Another Home Textile fair Heimtextil Russia is going to be held from 18 – 20 September 2018. Heimtextil Frankfurt 2018 will be held from 8 – 11 January 2019.

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
