Government constitutes council of business advisors

The Government has constituted the “Council of Business Leaders” comprising of stakeholders from the public and private sector. The 22-member council is chaired by the Prime Minister and includes the captains of leading sectors.

The Council shall ensure that Pakistan’s business leaders, as representatives of the nation’s business community, have access to a structured forum to provide feedback on the Government’s business, economic, investment, tariff and taxation policies; that policymakers benefit from a diverse set of opinions to assist in the formulation and implementation of the government’s agenda with respect to creating jobs; boosting exports; increasing investment; enhancing the ease of doing business; and encouraging the participation of overseas Pakistanis; and all other areas of policy where the input of the business community is critical.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Investment and Industries and Production Abdul Razak Dawood will be the President whereas Secretary Commerce will act as the Secretary to the Council.
