ECC approves continuation of RLNG supply to two fertiliser plants

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval to continue the supply of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to Agritech and Fatima Fertiliser plants till the end of November.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired the meeting here at the Cabinet Division.

The committee decided that the supply of RLNG shall continue till the end of November on a summary moved by the Ministry of Industries and Production for ensuring that the requirements of two fertiliser plants are fulfilled for the Rabi Season 2020-21.

The ECC will make a new decision on the matter when a three-member committee, constituted earlier by the committee, presents a proposal for further operations of these plants at the end of November.

Further, the ECC also approved two technical supplementary grants for the Ministry of Defence worth Rs17 billion during the current financial year as well as the Ministry of Commerce’s request for the inclusion of radiation apparatus in annex-B-1 of the Import Policy Order, 2020.
