Payments of export refund to be made soon, says FPCCI President

Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Zubair Tufail has revealed that the chamber is currently in talks with the government on the issue of payments of export refund. He assured that the issue of liquidity crunch faced by textile exporters will soon be addressed.

Tufail was talking to the media during his visit to the 10th international textile machinery and garment technology exhibition on the second day of the event, IGATEX Pakistan 2017-Exhibition and Conference, on Thursday at the Expo Centre. He was hopeful that the issue of refunds would soon be resolved hence the financial burden on exporters and cash flow problems would be eased. This will also boost the morale of exporters,  he added.

The FPCCI president highlighted that there is a dire need for the introduction of modern technologies and machinery in order to increase Pakistan’s share in the international market. He appreciated the efforts of organisers of the exhibition and showed satisfaction over the quality of products on display.

Saleem Khan Tanoli, CEO of FAKT Exhibitions, also present on the occasion, shared feedback of the exhibition. He informed the media that hundreds of visitors, mostly engineers and technicians, were visiting to exchange views and get information about machinery being displayed.

He reasserted that Pakistan needs modern machinery and technology and the event will open many avenues for traders and industrialists. Tanoli added that the exhibition will greatly contribute to the introduction of modern machinery to the local industrialists, which will, in turn, increase productivity.

He observed that the number of foreign exhibitors, as well as an increase in the number of participants, points to the improvement of law and order situation in Karachi.

The exhibition has more than 550 companies of 35 countries participating with their latest machinery on display. Out of the total, 73 are Italian, 70 German, 50 Chinese, 25 Turkish and 80 Pakistani companies are showcasing their products.
