Sindh industrial workers will get ‘Benazir Mazdoor Card’: minister

KARACHI

All Industrial workers would get “Benazir Mazdoor Card” a welfare card by NADRA very soon for transparent registration and verification with all facilities provided by the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institutions (SESSI).

This was decided in a meeting headed by Sindh Labour, Transport Mass Transit and Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah with NADRA authorities led by Director General Sindh Lt. Col. Muhammad Ahmed Khatak at Committee Room No.1 of Sindh Assembly Building here today.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner SESSI Farooq Legari, Vice Commissioner Shahid Abdul Salam, Dr Mumtaz Ali Shaikh Director Medical, Raja Altaf AC Labour Mines Welfare, Ms Tasneem Saeed, Syed Hamid Ali and Director NADRA Khalid Waleed, Qaisar Iqbal and Sidra Ali.

On the occasion, Sindh Labour Minister has said that the proposal is under consideration to provide “Benazir Mazdoor Card” through a contact to be made with NADRA, under SESSI all registered workers would get such facility.

Through which modern system would be evolved to provide services and welfare packages to the all industrial workers.   NADRA will issue Benazir Mazdoor Card with all Data Base Registration, Verification, and all facilities, for which a joint committee has been constituted to ascertain the proposal of NADRA and finalize the recommendation for the benefit of the industrial workers.

He said that PPP has always taken positive measures and established welfare institutions for the laborers to reduce the poverty, alleviate them and enhance their living standard to become useful members of the society,  such  “Benazir Mazdoor Card” is also a continuation of the development program of the PPP for the laborers and workers.
