Airlift services to remain suspended till 30th

LAHORE: Bus sharing service Airlift has said that its services will continue to remain suspended till April 30, 2020.

The announcement was made in a note issued to its users on Friday.

“Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and will be keeping you updated with any changes as more information becomes available,” the note said.

Airlift had initially suspended all operations on March 18, 2020 until April 6, 2020, to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 outbreak in Pakistan.

“This decision comes from Airlift’s commitment to putting the safety of its customers, pilots and teammates ahead of other considerations. Our team would like to take this opportunity to advise our passenger community to avoid crowded places, including buses. Crowded places in closed settings create a high-risk environment for contracting the COVID-19 virus. As a responsible organization, Airlift encourages passengers to adopt alternative modes of transport,” the initial statement had said.

Moreover, the company in its recent statement announced setting up an ‘Airlift Relief Fund’ to help the marginalised segment of the community who have been affected the most by the pandemic.
