Khawaja Riffat Hassan appointed as NTDC managing director

LAHORE: The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has appointed Dr Khawaja Riffat Hassan as Managing Director of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) as a stopgap arrangement.

His predecessor, Power Division Joint Secretary Zafar Abbas, had resigned as NTDC’s MD due to his commitments at the Power Division.

According to the NTDC spokesman, Dr Khawaja Riffat Hassan did his PhD and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and BSc Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore. He also holds Master Degree in Human Resource Management from NUML, Islamabad.

Hassan enjoys 27 years of power sector experience. He performed duties in NTDC as general manager of Power System Planning, GM of Design & Engineering, GM of Performance Assessment, GM of Asset Management and GM of Project Delivery.
