One often thinks why our leaders dupe the public by promising to change the destiny of the poor and transforming the country into one like European countries. Weather European citizens are satisfied with their own system or not, our leaders know not. They seem to be impressed with the surface than the substance. The leaders forget that appearances can be deceptive and when reality would reveal itself, the opinion about Europeans way of living may turn into despair. Hence our leaders need to avoid deceiving their supporters and forfeit attempt of showing ‘Sabz bagh’ to them. Our leaders need to motivate their followers to work hard and capitalize on the immense treasures Allah has blessed our country with. Distributing the BISP and health card may be a short-term fix, but not a solution to alleviate poverty. For that, we need a long-term strategy geared toward encouraging business and creating jobs. Motivating people to stop looking for short cuts and work hard to innovate and create. If the leadership is honest and true to themselves, people will listen and follow to make the country strong. History tells us that our people have always gone out of the way to sacrifice and donate for the country in time of need like they responded to Ex-PM Mian Nawaz Sharif’s “Qarz Utaro Mulk Sanwaro” call.
