The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday condemned the attack that led to the martyrdom of two of its officials, Sepoy Muqaddar Ali and Sepoy Nazar Muhammad, from the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar.
According to an official statement, the officials were performing their duties as part of the national campaign against tax evasion at a check post near Kohat Toll Plaza, established under Section 40D of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
Senior leadership of FBR, including the Chief Commissioner and Commissioners of RTO Peshawar, attended the funeral prayers of the martyred officials.
The Board expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to the officials for their service, reaffirming its commitment to continue enforcing tax laws despite such incidents.
The FBR also pledged full support to the bereaved families in accordance with the government’s policy for martyrs and assured that all entitled benefits would be provided without delay.
It added that the sacrifices of Sepoy Muqaddar Ali and Sepoy Nazar Muhammad would not be forgotten.
