Roshan Digital Account inflows rise to $242 million in February

Pakistan has received inflows of $12.165 billion under the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) programme from its launch in September 2020 through February 2026, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

In February alone, inflows through the programme reached $242 million, marking an 8% increase compared with the previous month.

Net inflows during February stood at $221 million, exceeding the six-month average of $188 million and the overall average of $154 million recorded since the programme began.

Data showed that of the total inflows of $12.165 billion, about $1.986 billion had been repatriated while $7.802 billion was invested within Pakistan. Combined utilisation and repatriation amounted to $9.788 billion, leaving a net repatriable liability of $2.377 billion.

The number of Roshan Digital Accounts also increased to 909,407 by the end of February, up from 901,764 in January.

Market analysts said inflows continued to show steady growth, supported in part by investments in government securities.

The RDA programme allows overseas Pakistanis to open digital bank accounts for investment, banking services and payments, while also enabling remittances to Pakistan through these accounts.

Separately, the State Bank reported that workers’ remittances increased 10.5% year-on-year to $26.5 billion during the first eight months of fiscal year 2026. Remittances reached $3.3 billion in February, compared with $3.1 billion in the same month last year, although they declined 5% on a month-on-month basis.

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank stood at $16.3 billion as of February 27, with the State Bank projecting reserves to reach $18 billion by June 2026.
