The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has confiscated three plots in Islamabad worth Rs60 million under its Anti-Benami Initiative following an adjudicating authority order, The News reported.
The action was carried out by Anti-Benami Initiative Zone-I Islamabad after receiving information that the plots were registered in the names of proxy owners. Authorities found that individuals listed as owners could not demonstrate the financial capacity required to acquire properties of such value.
The plots taken into possession include Plot No. 238 measuring 520 square yards, and Plot No. 495 and Plot No. 515, each measuring 600 square yards, all located in a housing society in Islamabad. Physical possession was taken with the assistance of local police, and signboards were installed to indicate government ownership.
During the inquiry, notices were issued to the registered owner, who failed to provide evidence of sufficient financial resources. Investigators concluded that the individual was acting as a front, while the actual beneficial ownership remained concealed.
A reference was subsequently filed before the Benami Transactions Adjudicating Authority, which upheld the findings and ordered confiscation. The decision was implemented by the Commissioner of Benami Zone Islamabad.
Under Confiscation Order No. 01 of 2026 dated February 20, 2026, the properties were seized under Section 25 of the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 2017. Following enforcement, all rights, title, and interest in the plots now vest with the federal government.
The FBR said the action forms part of its ongoing enforcement against benami transactions and undisclosed assets.
