Pakistan’s textile exports fall 0.5% to $13.5 billion in 9MFY26, March exports down 7.06% YoY
Garments exports up 3.77% to $3.2 billion, cotton cloth drops 10.94%, trade deficit at $25.1 billion in 8MFY26

Pakistan’s textile exports declined 0.5% to $13.545 billion during July–March FY2025-26, compared to $13.613 billion in the same period last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
On a year-on-year basis, textile exports fell 7.06% in March 2026 to $1.328 billion, down from $1.430 billion in March last year.
However, on a month-on-month basis, exports rose 1.36% in March compared to $1.311 billion in February.
Within the sector, ready-made garments recorded growth of 3.77% to $3.208 billion, while bedwear exports increased marginally by 0.25% to $2.380 billion.
Other segments showing growth included made-up articles excluding towels and bedwear, which rose 0.60% to $591.66 million, cotton yarn exports up 4.42% to $562.16 million, and other textile materials increasing 5.47% to $592.24 million.
Raw cotton exports also rose to $2.606 million from $0.871 million in the same period last year.
In contrast, several segments posted declines, with cotton cloth exports falling 10.94% to $1.268 billion and knitwear down 1.14% to $3.742 billion.
Exports of towels decreased 2.10% to $801.5 million, while yarn other than cotton yarn declined 5.92% to $23.93 million.
Art silk and synthetic textile exports also dropped 10.56% to $271.81 million.
Separately, Pakistan’s total exports in February 2026 stood at $2.278 billion, down 25.43% from January and 8.51% lower than February last year.
Exports during July–February FY2025-26 were recorded at $20.468 billion, compared to $22.073 billion in the same period last year, showing a decline of 7.27%.
Imports in February 2026 totalled $5.318 billion, down 8.39% from January but broadly unchanged compared to the same month last year.
During July–February FY2025-26, imports rose 8.21% to $45.569 billion from $42.110 billion a year earlier.
The trade deficit stood at $3.040 billion in February, while the cumulative deficit reached $25.101 billion during July–February FY2025-26.
