Sindh govt gives go ahead to textile city project

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while presiding over a meeting on the project has given a go ahead to the Pakistan Textile City Limited in partnership with Port Qasim Authority (PQA).

The chief minister stated that the project has huge potential to attract investment hence all efforts will be concentrated in provision of facilities such as water, gas and drainage etc.

PQA Chairman Agha Jan Akhtar stated that the project is feasible provided all problems faced by the project are rectified.

The industries secretary informed that the paid-up capital of the company stood at    Rs 1,250m, out of which the federal government has contributed Rs500m against a shareholding of  40%. Moreover, the federal and provincial governments have contributed Rs199 million and Rs271 million respectively for a water supply line  being constructed by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

The chief minister informed that he would personally visit the project site to review the facilities that have developed so far to determine what is required.
