In a press conference on Sunday, the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the prices of petrol will remain unchanged, despite the summary sent by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to decrease prices by Rs 1 per liter in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel and an increase of Rs10 in the prices of Light Diesel and Rs15 per liter for Kerosene.

Dar said that the government had decided not to enforce charges of sales tax or petroleum development levy on either petrol or light diesel and a cash subsidy will be provided to maintain the existing prices by the finance ministry.

The prices remain unchanged, hence petrol will cost Rs74, Diesel Rs83, Light Diesel Oil and Kerosene at Rs44 as it did on April 1st.
