ISLAMABAD
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are striving hard to boost the bilateral trade to $ 1 billion from the existing $ 325 million. This was said by outgoing Sri Lankan Consul General H.M.B. Herath, during a dinner hosted in his honor recently by Pakistan Sri Lanka Business Forum.
He said that the trade opportunities between the two countries were in abundance and ‘we’ must exploit tremendous trade potentials for ‘our’ mutual benefits.
With his new assignment as head of the Sri Lankan trade development authority, he would continue working for consistent enhancement of bilateral trade and his full cooperation and support would always be available to Pak-Sri Lanka business forum in this context, the C.G. assured.
Earlier, Pakistan Sri Lanka business forum President, Aslam Pakhali, praised sincere and commendable efforts always extended by the C.G. which played a vital role in enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries.
“We treat Sri Lanka as our trade partner and that is the reason, Pakistan organises exhibitions in Colombo and regularly attends the “World Export Forum” in the foreign country,” he added.
The event was attended by All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association, Patron-in-Chief Waheed Ahmed, and other leading businessmen including Majeed Aziz, Rauf Tabani, Iqbal Shaikhani, Abdul Bari, Rehan Bhoja, Abdul Wahab, and others.
