NBP to sponsor one ambulance of Aman Foundation for 5 years

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Aman Foundation on Sunday signed an MoU which entails sponsoring an ambulance of Aman Foundation for five years. This ambulance will be operated in Gulberg Area, district central Karachi. The MoU was signed by Ovais Asad Khan, head of Strategic Marketing Division and Arshad Saeed Hussain, CEO of Aman Foundation in Karachi.

While speaking at the event, Ovais Khan said, “It is our duty to support organisations that are playing a significant role and bringing positive change in people’s lives. NBP is committed to supporting organisations through contributions and donations for charitable, social, educational and public welfare purposes. NBP takes great pride in its CSR initiatives, and extends its support to all areas of social welfare.”

Aman Foundation CEO thanked NBP for providing the ambulance and applauded the role of NBP in fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility. He further said that Aman Foundation is serving people by offering a number of facilities, in addition to its state of the art ambulance service.

The president of National Bank of Pakistan, Saeed Ahmad, had also sanctioned 10 rickshaw vehicles on the request of Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, patron in chief of Pakistan Hindu Council, to facilitate opportunity of employment to the people of Thar.

This arrangement enabled the unemployed villagers to earn a living by transportation of children from Thar villages to their schools in the city. It will make the life of the children easier and encourage them to pursue their education on a regular basis. The president said we owe it to all communities and localities to participate in their well being. He emphasized that it is no favor to anyone but performing our duties for the people being the bank of the nation.

NBP has institutionalised these activities by creating a separate division and has been running a full-fledged CSR programme to bring positive change and improving quality of life of underprivileged members of the society. The prime area of focus for CSR initiatives is education, woman and child health, special persons, culture & relief for affectees of natural disasters.

NBP has received several awards on different occasions in numerous categories for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in recognition of its efforts and commitment.
