Committee seeks explanation from secretary, DG Aviation 

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has sought a written explanation from Aviation Secretary and Director General regarding using delaying tactics in the opening of new Islamabad Airport.

The committee meeting was held on Tuesday under the supervision of Senator Talha Mehmood. During the meeting, the committee has expressed anger on the secretary, DG aviation regarding keeping the committee in dark of NHA delaying tactics in the opening of new Islamabad airport. The committee sought a written explanation from them in this regard.

According to the aviation officials, technical and mechanical work was still going on in the new Islamabad airport.

However, while giving a briefing to committee NHA officials told that the total cost of new Islamabad Metro Transport was Rs 15.027 million and its total distance was 25.6 km.

Senator Kalsoom Perveez, Senator Najima Hameed, Haji Saifullah, CDA, NHA and ministry of housing officials attended the meeting.
