PTCL, JAZZ top consumer complaint chart: PTA

ISLAMABAD: PTCL leads the consumer complaint chart with 1,267 complaints received during October, JAZZ (Mobilink+Warid) stands at the second position as a telecom operator with 948 complaints lodged during the same period.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has received 3,930 complaints from telecom consumers against the different telecom operators (including cellular operators, PTCL, LDIs, WLL operators and ISPs) in October 2017, according to data issued here.

PTA said that it was able to get 95.65 per cent of the complaints resolved.

In terms of the segregation of complaints by individual operators, a total of 948 complaints were received against JAZZ (Mobilink+Warid) which is 37 per cent of the total cellular mobile operator (CMO) related complaints.

Cellular mobile subscribers constitute a major part of the overall telecom subscriber base, therefore, the maximum number of complaints belong to this segment. The total number of complaints against CMOs during October 2017 stood at 2,593.

Telenor with 761 complaints i.e. 30 per cent of the complaints was received against it. Zong stood third with 470 complaints i.e. with 18 per cent of the total complaints. Ufone had 414 complaints against its various services which make up 16 per cent of the total CMO related complaints.
