CDWP approves Attabad power project

GILGIT: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has formally approved Attabad power project of 32.5MW costing Rs 9.75 billion and has referred it to Executive Committee of National Economics.

This positive development was possible due to hectic efforts of the Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan and Governor Secretariat, says Spokesman of Governor Secretariat.

The Governor thanked Federal Government and CDWP for approving this mega project and termed it a gigantic step towards self-sufficiency in energy conservation and addressing the inherited issue of power shortage in Hunza district.

With the completion of this mega project, he said, not only people would get inexpensive electricity to consumers besides starting a new chapter of economic progress and development.
