ISLAMABAD: In a major breakthrough, Pakistani and Chinese companies have signed an agreement of $3million for export of dental and surgical instruments from Sialkot to China.
An official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that after sustained efforts, for the first time, Pakistan has been able to make inroads into Western China’s flourishing dental products market.
“We are pleased to inform you that a $3million export agreement has been signed between Xizhi Mei Plastic Hospital Chongqing and Asia Care & Tech Company (Sialkot),” says an official letter available with Pakistan Today.
According to the agreement, the Sialkot-based Company will export dental and surgical instruments worth a million dollars every year, for three years, to the Chinese company.
“We are very hopeful that this will lead to the signing of even more similar agreements going forward,” the letter added.
It may be recalled that Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has already approved the participation of Pakistan’s delegation at the Dental Show being held in Chengdu next year.
Pakistan’s participation in the event will open up more robust opportunities for export of its dental and surgical instrument to this part of China.
