National workshop on bio-fertilisers to be held on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) is organising a day-long national workshop on January 17 regarding bio-fertiliser development, commercialisation and legislation in Pakistan.

The workshop to be held at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) is aimed at promoting the use of bio-fertilisers for producing environment-friendly agriculture products to protect human and animal health.

The workshop will also focus on ways and means for developing and encouraging the production as well as commercialisation of bio-fertilisers and discussing the legislative measures to promote their production.

The workshop will also cover the efficiency of bio-fertilisers to increase crop yield, the present status of bio-fertilisers, and the potential and future prospects of their use across the globe.

It will also discuss constraints and issues being faced by the stakeholders for the promotion of bio-fertilisers.

Moreover, the impact of bio-fertilisers on various crops will also be discussed.

National Food Security and Research Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan will inaugurate the event while Fazal Abbas Maken and other prominent scientists and academics are also expected to attend the workshop.
