KARACHI: The 9th South Asia Sichuan Business Promotion Roundtable Conference handed over the chair of 10th Roundtable Conference to Pakistan after the concluding session on Wednesday.

Pakistan getting the chair for 10th CSABF is being considered a significant move because Pakistan and China are scaling new heights of economic cooperation through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), FPCCI stated, adding that the step will help Pakistan’s trade flow through multiple channels beside rapidly expanding and upgrading the country’s infrastructure, as well as deepening and broadening its economic links with China.

The forum has been effectively organizing annual conferences since 2010 in Chengdu, China, contributing to the economic cooperation between South Asia and Chinese businesses. Pakistan has been actively participating since its inception. The 10th edition will witness Pakistan chairing the session for the second time in South Asia Sichuan Council’s annual business promotion event.

The theme for the 9th South Asia – Sichuan Business Promotion Roundtable Conference was “Promoting Deep Integration of China – SAARC Economy: Cross-Border E-Commerce, Industrial Transfer and Infrastructure Cooperation” that aimed at enhancing regional economic cooperation and integration between China and SAARC region industries and businesses.

According to FPCCI, the roundtable conference was the source of cooperation and opportunities for the South Asian business community to strike new partnerships, share best business practices and explore virgin business opportunities in China.
