Govt to increase electricity prices by Rs2 per unit

ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday decided to increase electricity prices by Rs2 per unit.

The hike in the prices will put an additional burden of Rs200 billion on consumers. The capacity payment of Rs200 billion will be charged from all customers.

The prices will be increased after getting approval from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

On the other hand, the people rejected the decision and lamented that it is not possible for them to pay such high bills.
