ISLAMABAD: Former chief of the air staff Sohail Aman has urged the business community to fully capitalise on the investment opportunities offered by the aviation industry.

Addressing the business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Friday, the former air chief said that the aviation industry needed parts, wings and many other products to manufacture aeroplanes and other defence equipment. He invited the private sector to come forward and invest in the aviation industry so as to help strengthen this important industry of the country.

Sohail Aman stressed the need for linking the downstream industry with the aviation industry, as it would not only create new business opportunities for the private sector but would also promote exports of the aviation industry.

The former air chief said Pakistan has started working on 5th generation aircraft, which was a landmark development in the aviation industry.
