Federal cabinet to take up pacts with Turkey, inflation today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the cabinet today (Thursday) to discuss the 16-point agenda including recently signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Turkey and inflation.

The federal cabinet will meet at 2pm at the PM House with the premier in the chair.

According to the official agenda, the cabinet will be taken into confidence over recent MoUs signed with Turkey in connection with Turkish President Reccep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan.

The cabinet would also take up issues related to price hikes, inflation, gas prices, electricity bills and ‘Ehsaas programme’.

The matter of regulatory duty on the pulses would also be on the agenda of the cabinet meeting.

One time approval to import pesticide from India is also expected to be approved while constitution of national commission for the child rights is also on the agenda of the federal cabinet.

The cabinet will give approval to the appointment of the Security and Exchange Companies (SECP)’s commissioner.

The review report of the fiscal budget for the year 2019-2020 will be presented in the meeting, while Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood will brief the cabinet over the National Education Policy plan.
