Govt to propose economic relief package before NCC : Hammad

The government will present a large package for needy and deserving people affected by coronavirus lockdown in a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) today.

This has been stated by Minister for Industries Hammad Azhar in Islamabad. He said,  “We are working with the Ministry of Finance and State Bank of Pakistan to introduce a scheme of loans for people who do not have any collateral to offer.” 

Briefing the media at Prime Minister’s office,he said the government would propose a relief package before the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet for approval that is aimed at providing relief to people who have been laid off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He said after the approval of this package, we should start awareness programmes about registration through the media. The minister said the government was working on electricity package to give relief to small and medium term businessmen and it would be launched at the end of April and another for people who did not have the collateral to procure loans.
