Eidul Fitr: Govt to disburse salary and pension by May 21

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to disburse salary and pension among the federal employees as well as pensioners as of May 21.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Monday directed the Accountant General Pakistan, the Revenues, the Military Accountant General and the Chief Account Officer Ministry of Foreign Affairs with regard to disbursement of pay and allowance/pension for the month of May, 2020 in advance to all federal government servants and pensioners on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

An attention is invited to note-4 of rule-217 to the Treasury (Vol-I), which states that if the festival of Eidul Fitr falls within the last 10 days of a month, the salary of that month may be disbursed in advance to all federal government servants and pensioners observing the festival. The advance should not be disbursed earlier than five days before the date of festival, says an official order.

Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on May 24 or 25 (depending upon sighting of moon). It is therefore requested that the arrangements may kindly be made to disburse the salary and pension for the month of May 2020 to the federal government servants and pensioners on May 21, the directive further says.
