Pakistan Tobacco Company’s profit increases 7.95pc to 7.6bn in six months

LAHORE: Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PAKT) on Friday released its financial results for the half year ended June 30, 2020 announcing that its profit increased 7.95 per cent to Rs7.614 billion compared to the profit of Rs7.053 billion during the same period of last year.

The company announced an interim dividend of Rs15 per share for the financial year ending December 2020.

The company’s income tax expense decreased by 8.855 per cent to Rs2.826 billion compared to Rs3.1 billion for the same period of last year. 

PAKT profit before tax increased by 2.82 per cent to Rs10.440 billion during the six months ended June 30, 2020 compared to Rs10.153 billion during the same period of last year..

The company’s gross turnover stood at Rs85.884 billion as compared to Rs80.270 billion showing an increase of 6.99 per cent.

PAKT’s finance income for the period under review stood at Rs463.420 million compared to Rs617.020 million during the same period of last year.

Its finance cost increased from Rs78.387 million during the same period of 2019 to Rs109.483 million during the six months ended June 30, 2020 showing an increase of 39.7 per cent.
