KP PDWP approves 35 projects worth Rs56bn

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP)-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday approved 35 projects worth Rs56.03 billion.

The PDWP meeting, held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, considered a total of 36 schemes pertaining to energy, law & justice, local government, irrigation, health, agriculture, road, industries, welfare & supportive services, urban development, sport & tourism and elementary & secondary education sectors.

The forum approved 35 schemes with an estimated cost of Rs56,033.481 million, while one scheme was deferred due to inadequate design and was returned to the respective department for rectification.

Approved schemes under energy sector included modification in Malakand-III, solarization of mosques & worship places, and installation of additional 40MW power transformer along with civil works at 132Kv GSS in Wana, South Waziristan.

Similarly, approved projects for the Law & Justice Division included construction of seven district judicial complexes and 25 tehsil judicial complexes.

For under development, the PDWP approved construction of a bus terminal/taxi stand, fruit & vegetable market and family park in sub-division Jandola Tank and sub-division Darzinda, D I Khan, besides construction of a fruit & vegetable market, cattle fair markets, slaughter houses in district Orakzai.

Likewise, the PDWP approved the establishment of a park on Peshawar Ring Road, including provision of municipal services.
