Mobile phone imports increase 45.26pc in 5MFY21

ISLAMABAD: The import of mobile phones witnessed an increase of 45.26 per cent during the first five months (July-Nov) of the current financial year (FY21) as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

According to details, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $724.085 million in July-Nov FY21 as compared to the imports of $498.463 million in July-Nov FY20, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Sunday.

Similarly, mobile phone imports also increased by 50.04pc to $166.124 million on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in November 2020, as compared to imports of $110.723 million in Nov 2019.

Further, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the import of mobile phones also rose 155.3pc in Nov 2020, as compared to the imports of $65.069 million in October 2020.
