Qatar, Azerbaijan pledge $5 billion investment in Pakistan: PM 

Qatar Investment Authority’s delegation will soon visit Pakistan, prime minister briefs cabinet members on the outcomes of his recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Qatar will invest $3 billion in Pakistan, while Azerbaijan has agreed to increase bilateral investment to $2 billion across various sectors.

The prime minister briefed cabinet members on the outcomes of his recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, describing them as successful and productive. 

Addressing the cabinet meeting, he shared that he had productive discussions with the leadership of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, covering topics like solar energy, mining, minerals, and information technology.

He mentioned that a delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority would soon visit Pakistan, following Qatar’s announcement of a $3 billion investment in the country.

Shehbaz highlighted that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed interest in skilled IT professionals from Pakistan, requesting the prime minister to send trained workers to the Kingdom to meet demand.

The Amir of Qatar also expressed interest in establishing an IT park in Pakistan.

The prime minister further stated that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to boost bilateral investment to $2 billion in various sectors. This understanding was formalized during a visit by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, through the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
