Suzuki unveils e-Vitara SUV, first mass-produced electric vehicle

Suzuki's electric SUV to launch in Japan, Europe, and India by summer 2025 in partnership with Toyota

Suzuki Motor has introduced its first mass-produced electric vehicle, the e-Vitara SUV, at an event in Milan. This global strategic EV model, set for release in Japan, Europe, and India by summer 2025, will also be supplied to Toyota Motor under an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) arrangement.

While Suzuki has not disclosed the retail price, the e-Vitara is anticipated to be a competitive addition to the EV market.

Developed in collaboration with Toyota and its subsidiary Daihatsu Motor, the e-Vitara boasts impressive performance, with a range of approximately 400 kilometers on a single charge.

The model’s launch represents a major step toward Suzuki’s commitment to carbon neutrality.

“This marks a significant milestone in our journey toward carbon neutrality,” stated Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki during the unveiling.
