Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor has quickly gained traction in the SUV segment, delivering 8,000 units of its B10 model within just 13 days of launch.

According to Vice President Cao Li, more than half of these orders are for the lidar-equipped variant, highlighting strong consumer interest in the brand’s advanced driver-assistance features.

Speaking at the Shanghai Auto Show on Wednesday, Cao also announced the debut of Leapmotor’s new B01 sedan, which will be offered in eight different colors. The move is aimed at appealing to younger car buyers, a key target demographic for the brand.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co., Ltd. began selling its first vehicles in 2019. The company has since emerged as a rising player in China’s competitive electric vehicle market.
