Lahore has been officially declared the “Tourism Capital 2027” at the 6th ECO Tourism Ministerial Meeting held in Erzurum, Turkey.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her gratitude for the honor in a message on social media platform X.
“Lahore, a city of history, heritage, and love, is ready to showcase its magnificent historical heritage, vibrant culture, and immense tourism potential,” Sharif stated. “As ECO Tourism Capital 2027, Lahore is poised to become a prominent global tourism hub.”
The Chief Minister thanked the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for selecting Lahore for this prestigious title. “With the trust, support, and cooperation of ECO, we are committed to bringing the beauty of Pakistan, Punjab, and Lahore to the global stage,” she added.
This designation is expected to significantly boost Lahore’s profile as a key tourist destination, attracting visitors and investments from around the world.
