Govt confirms federal budget to be presented on June 10 despite delay rumours

Finance officials clarify no change in budget date while NEC meeting schedule may be adjusted

The government reaffirmed that the federal budget for fiscal year 2025-26 will be presented on June 10, dismissing speculation of any postponement due to Eid holidays.

Federal Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal told reporters after a National Assembly committee meeting that the budget date remains unchanged, though the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting date might be revised. 

He added that the budget is being finalised in coordination with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Adviser Khurram Shehzad took to X to confirm that no decision has been made to delay or reschedule the budget presentation. 

He also stated that the Pakistan Economic Survey for FY25 is on track to be released on June 9.
