Xiaomi will officially launch its new YU7 electric SUV on June 26, with pricing expected to be announced and orders set to begin.
The event, scheduled to start at 7:00 pm, was confirmed by CEO Lei Jun in a post on Weibo. Xiaomi also plans to unveil the MIX Flip 2 foldable smartphone, the Pad 7S Pro tablet, and a new personal smart device at the same event.
The YU7 is Xiaomi’s first SUV and its second electric vehicle model. It was initially unveiled on May 22. The company had previously said it would launch in July, but Lei later confirmed it would be introduced before the end of June.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the exact price of the YU7. At an investor conference on June 3, Lei said the final pricing would be set just one to two days before the launch.
He also denied rumors that the starting price would be RMB 235,900 or just RMB 20,000 more than the SU7 sedan.
The SU7, launched in March 2024 with a starting price of RMB 215,900, was Xiaomi’s first EV. Demand for the sedan has been strong, with customers facing wait times of up to 51 weeks. Xiaomi delivered more than 28,000 units of the SU7 in May, marking the eighth straight month of monthly deliveries above 20,000.
Xiaomi president Lu Weibing said the YU7 received stronger initial interest than the SU7 did at its debut. As of May 25, pre-order deposits for the YU7 were about three times higher than for the SU7 during a similar period.
