BYD’s off-road brand Fangchengbao offers new discount on Huawei smart driving tech

The price of Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving High-end Function Package is 12,000 yuan, down from the usual 32,000 yuan

BYD’s luxury off-road brand Fang Cheng Bao is offering a new discount on Huawei’s smart driving technology as part of a limited-time offer in July.

The price of Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving High-end Function Package has been reduced to 12,000 yuan ($1,700), down from the usual 32,000 yuan ($4,500).

The move follows a series of price cuts by BYD across its electric vehicle lineup in May. The company reduced prices on 22 models by up to 34%, leading several other automakers in China to lower their prices as well. The China Automobile Manufacturers Association later warned that such low prices could start a new round of price war concerns in the market.

BYD’s cheapest model, the Seagull, is now listed at 55,800 yuan ($8,000), compared to its previous starting price of 66,800 yuan ($10,000).

Earlier this year, Fang Cheng Bao launched the Tai 3, its most affordable model to date, starting at 139,800 yuan ($19,300). The Tai 3, which is about the size of a Tesla Model Y, will lead a new line of electric SUVs under the brand.

In June, Fang Cheng Bao sold 18,903 vehicles, an increase of 50% from May and 605% from a year earlier. The brand has now recorded monthly sales above 10,000 for three straight months.

BYD reported total vehicle sales of 382,585 units in June, up 12% from the same month last year. In the first half of 2025, BYD’s total sales reached over 2.1 million units, a 33% increase year over year.
