Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has launched its latest generation Geological and Geophysical (G&G) acquisition systems, marking a significant step in modernizing its exploration operations.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Oil and Gas Training Institute (OGTI) in Islamabad, with OGDCL Managing Director/CEO Mr. Ahmed Hayat Lak leading the event.
These new systems are part of OGDCL’s efforts to enhance data-driven decision-making, improve exploration precision, and bolster productivity in the upstream sector. The systems aim to support the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
Dr. Khalid Amin Khan, Head of Exploration at OGDCL, briefed attendees on the technologies, including seismic systems procured from Sercel, France, capable of autonomous recording and high-resolution imaging. The Mud Logging Units from CTEC, China, integrate AI-powered anomaly detection and real-time data transmission, while Wireline Units from Baker Hughes, USA, provide superior data quality in various drilling environments.
The new systems are expected to reinforce OGDCL’s leadership in the national energy landscape and strengthen its exploration capabilities, positioning the company to unlock Pakistan’s hydrocarbon potential.
