Pakistan imports soyabean oil worth $94.991 million, palm oil worth $2.350 billion in 7MFY26
Soyabean oil imports fall 42.27% to 85,771 tons, while palm oil imports rise 24.28% to 2.182 million tons in the July-January period

Pakistan’s soyabean oil imports declined by 42.27% during the first seven months of FY26 compared with the same period last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Between July and January 2025-26, the country imported 85,771 metric tons of soyabean oil worth $94.991 million to meet domestic demand. In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, imports stood at 94,991 metric tons valued at $164.550 million.
In contrast, palm oil imports increased by 24.28% during the same period. Pakistan imported 2.182 million metric tons of palm oil costing $2.350 billion in 7mFY26, compared with 1.887 million metric tons valued at $1.885 billion a year earlier.
PBS data also showed a decline in food exports during the July-January period. Food exports fell by 35.21% to $2.988 billion in 7mFY26, compared with $4.613 billion in the same period last year.
On a month-on-month basis, food exports rose to $624.445 million in January 2026 from $405.983 million in December 2025.
Meanwhile, food group imports increased by 19.26% in the first seven months of FY26. The country imported food commodities worth $5.502 billion during July-January 2025-26, compared with $4.613 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
On a monthly basis, food imports stood at $871.468 million in January 2026, up from $783.438 million in December 2025.
