K-Electric reschedules EOGM to April 2 for election of 13 directors
Meeting moved from March 25 after government signals right to nominate board members

K-Electric Limited has rescheduled its Extraordinary General Meeting for the election of directors to April 2, 2026, after receiving communication from the Ministry of Energy stating that the government may exercise its right to nominate or elect board members.
The company had earlier scheduled the EOGM for March 25 to conduct elections for 10 directors. However, the Ministry of Energy informed K-Electric that the Government of Pakistan, as a shareholder, is entitled to appoint directors through nomination or election and would participate in the process accordingly.
Following the communication, the company’s board decided to revise the plan and proceed with elections for 13 directors instead of the previously announced 10.
The board also resolved to complete all regulatory requirements and reschedule the EOGM. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan approved the revised schedule on March 10.
The meeting will now take place on April 2, 2026.
K-Electric said candidates intending to contest the election must submit notices of intention and required documents at the company’s registered office by March 19, which is 14 days before the meeting.
The company has also issued an addendum to the earlier EOGM notice to inform shareholders, investors and market participants about the changes.
