OGDC appoints Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh as ex-officio director

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has appointed Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh as an ex-officio director on its board, according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday.

The company said Sheikh, who serves as Secretary of the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, joined the board with effect from March 13, 2026.

He replaces Mirza Nasir Ud Din Mashhood Ahmad, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), who previously held the position.

Last week, the federal government appointed Sheikh as Secretary of the Petroleum Division. According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division on March 5, 2026, the BS-22 Pakistan Administrative Service officer was transferred from the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division and posted to head the Petroleum Division, which oversees Pakistan’s oil, gas and petroleum sector, including exploration, production, refining and marketing activities.
