The federal government has increased the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil while keeping petrol and high-speed diesel rates unchanged.
According to the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the price of kerosene oil has been raised by Rs39.20 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs358.01 per litre.
The government has also increased the price of light diesel oil by Rs67.51 per litre. The new price of LDO has been set at Rs302.52 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs235.01 per litre.
The government has decided to maintain the existing petroleum levy on petrol and diesel. The levy on petrol remains at Rs105.37 per litre, while the levy on high-speed diesel stays at Rs55.24 per litre.
Officials said the current price structure reflects the government’s decision to keep petrol and diesel prices stable for consumers despite changes in international petroleum markets.
Meanwhile, the Finance Division has obtained cabinet approval for the establishment of a “Prime Minister’s Austerity Fund,” while the Economic Coordination Committee has authorised the transfer of Rs27.10 billion to the fund to support government fiscal measures.
