Pakistan’s IT exports rise 20% YoY to $365 million in February, dip 2% MoM

Pakistan’s IT exports increased by 20% year-on-year to $365 million in February 2026, though they declined 2% compared to January, indicating mixed short-term momentum.

Cumulatively, IT exports reached $2.98 billion during July–February FY2025-26, reflecting a 20% increase over the same period last year and reinforcing the sector’s role in foreign exchange earnings.

Net IT exports stood at $320 million in February, up 15% on a yearly basis, maintaining a surplus position for the sector.

Despite the growth, projections suggest exports may fall short of the government’s $5 billion target for FY26.

Analysts expect full-year exports to reach around $4.5 billion, compared to $3.8 billion in FY25, implying annual growth of 18–20%. Under the Uraan Pakistan initiative, the government has set a longer-term target of $10 billion in IT exports by FY2028-29.
