The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 in border districts to restrict the movement of wheat and prevent smuggling and hoarding, officials said.
A notification issued by the Home Department stated that the order has taken immediate effect and will remain in force for two months. Authorities have been directed to take action against individuals involved in the illegal transportation or stockpiling of wheat.
The notification said that possession of wheat beyond the permitted limit and concealment of stock will invite legal action. Officials have also been authorised to seize wheat found in violation of the order.
Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to carry out inspections of suspected storage facilities, verify transport documentation and confiscate wheat being moved or stored unlawfully.
The measures aim to control the movement of wheat in border areas and ensure the enforcement of restrictions during the notified period.
