Flour prices surge across Pakistan, 20kg bag rises up to Rs200

Flour prices have increased across major cities over the past week, with the cost of a 20kg bag rising by up to Rs200, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Karachi recorded the highest prices, where a 20kg bag is being sold for up to Rs2,500, while Lahore remained the lowest at around Rs1,810.

The largest weekly increases were reported in Hyderabad and Larkana, where prices rose by Rs200 per bag. Sargodha followed with an increase of Rs190, while Sukkur recorded a rise of Rs160.

In Multan, prices went up by Rs133.33, while Karachi and Khuzdar saw increases of up to Rs100. Quetta reported a rise of Rs90, Islamabad Rs67, Gujranwala Rs66 and Rawalpindi Rs40.

Price levels across cities also remained elevated, with Quetta at Rs2,450, Hyderabad Rs2,440, Islamabad Rs2,373 and Peshawar Rs2,350. In Bannu and Khuzdar, the price stood at around Rs2,300 per 20kg bag.

Rawalpindi recorded Rs2,347, Faisalabad Rs2,250, while Sukkur and Larkana were at Rs2,200. Gujranwala, Multan and Sialkot reported prices of Rs2,133, followed by Bahawalpur at Rs2,067 and Sargodha at Rs2,000.
